Fr. Chris - Cactus Patch #3, vacation sewing and Niagara Falls

I'm a bit behind on posting updates.   A week of sewing in the cabin, while the guys were fishing, yielded me 100 string blocks and 400 HSTs.

Our next vacation stop was two days at Niagara Falls.

We took a ride on the Hornblower Cruise into the Canadian horseshoe falls!  It was amazing and scary at the same time.  We were in the front of the boat and as we went deeper in we could see and feel the power of the water falling on both sides in front of the boat and at one point we were in a total white out from the mist.

That evening we watched as the falls were lit up in color and then a short fireworks show.

Day 2 we walked from opposite the American Falls to the Canadian Falls watching how far into the horseshoe the boats went.

Then we did the Journey behind the falls.   Walking tunnels behind the falls with 3 viewing openings.   This first one was right at the edge of the horseshoe falls...

The other two tunnel openings were behind the water almost midway into the horseshoe.  You really couldn't see anything but white water ... but you could hear and feel the power! The background glare of the sun coming through the water made picture taking difficult.

Coming back outside this was the view as we exited the gift shop!  The power of the water is amazing.  Billions of gallons of water per minute flowing over the falls!  Where does it all come from!?

I'm going to try uploading a video... hope this works.

They have always loved wings... but now they are hockey fans too!

I think he really enjoyed his first international vacation.
